The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in cooperation with Granite Construction Inc., announces an approximate 45-day closure of the westbound 198 to southbound/northbound 41 connector and the southbound/northbound 41 to eastbound 198 connector, as part of the State Route 198/19th Avenue Interchange Project in Lemoore within Kings County.
Interchange connector closures will be as follows:
Beginning, Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, the westbound State Route 198 connector ramp to State Route 41 and the State Route 41 connector ramp to eastbound State Route 198 will close for approximately 45 days. Detours will be in place utilizing sections of the newly constructed interchange at 19th Avenue and area surface streets.
Westbound 198 to Southbound or Northbound 41 will exit at 19th Avenue, north to Bush Street, then west to State Route 41 on ramps.
State Route 41 to Eastbound 198 will exit Idaho Avenue just south of 198, continue east to 19th Avenue, then north on 19th Avenue to the 198 on ramp.
Westbound Idaho to State Route 41 will be detoured south at 19th Avenue, then west on Jackson Avenue to State Route 41.
Motorists may experience delays and are encouraged to take alternate routes whenever possible.
The public is asked to drive with extra care while traveling through the construction area and on local surface streets.
