Darcie was born April 16,1989, in Visalia, California, to Edmund and Robin Peña of Three Rivers. She was the loving little sister to Eddie, Chris, and Ashley Peña. Darcie spent all of her life in her beloved hometown of Three Rivers with the exception of college.
In 2007, Darcie graduated from Woodlake High School. She then attended at California State University, Channel Islands, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. During her many years in Three Rivers, Darcie mentored and enriched the lives of countless children as a preschool teacher at River Kids Preschool, paraeducator at Three Rivers Union School and, in her younger years, babysitting children. Darcie was most known and loved for her joyful, positive attitude; her close relationships with her large family and many good friends, being a lover of music, and her love for children, both relatives and non-relatives. We know that her unbreakable spirit will continue to inspire us and others, and we will never forget the laughter and love she brought to all of us.
