Dorothy Eleanor Newman of Three Rivers died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016. She was 88.
Ellee, as she preferred to be called, was born May 2, 1928, in Los Angeles. As a child she traveled to Three Rivers many times with her family and fell in love with the area.
She always hoped and dreamed that she would be able to live here someday. Many years later, she, her husband, and youngest daughter Dana were able to realize that dream.
Ellee loved to hike and enjoyed the wildlife, wildflowers, and the beauty of the Three Rivers area as well as the surrounding mountains. She was an accomplished pianist and played in several of the area’s local churches. Upon request, she could play a wide variety of music.
Ellee also loved gardening and dancing. She had many favorite pets over the years and a special love for cats and German shepherds.
Ellee was preceded in death by her infant son, David Mutch; her first husband, Alexander Mutch; and her second husband, Samuel Pusateri.
She is survived by three daughters and one stepdaughter, Diane Taliani and husband Bill, Denise Merritt and husband Dan, Dana Sun, and Nora Pusateri Griffiths and husband Vince; four granddaughters, Cari Bennett and husband Shawn and their three children, Christen Mitchell and husband Tony and their two children, Marie Soleil, and Lisa Taliani and her three children.
The family is planning a private graveside service after the holidays.
