Free shuttle service will offer transportation to the main attractions in the Giant Forest area of Sequoia National Park during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday periods. Next week, shuttles will be making the rounds from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., beginning Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov. 27) through Sunday, Nov. 30.
The free shuttles will be back in operation from Friday, Dec. 26, to Sunday, Jan. 4, with the same hours of operation.
The shuttles will run every 10 minutes or so between the following stops:
Wuksachi Village, Wolverton snowplay area, General Sherman Tree (two stops), and the Giant Forest Museum.
All shuttles accommodate bicycles or, if weather conditions warrant, provide access to cross-country skiing trailheads. All are accessible for those in wheelchairs.
Visitors driving into the parks must bring and be prepared to use tire chains or cables, as required. For road conditions, call (559) 565-3341.
