Gregory Mendoza Jr. died Saturday, March 3, 2018, at his Three Rivers home. He was 68.
A celebration of Greg’s life will be held Thursday, April 5, at 3 p.m., at The Gateway Restaurant and Lodge in Three Rivers.
Greg was born July 16, 1949, in Sacramento to Gregorio “Jorge” Mendoza and Esther Martinez Mendoza. He was raised and educated in Sanger.
Around 1990, Greg settled in Three Rivers, where he resided for the past nearly 30 years. He owned and operated Three Rivers Shopping & Delivery Service, working over the years for Buckeye Tree Lodge, St. Anthony Retreat, Gateway Restaurant, and The Kaweah Commonwealth, along with providing his services to many private individuals.
Greg loved Three Rivers, saying, “There’s a spirituality in this community. Not a day goes by that you don’t run into someone who is doing something special for somebody.”
Greg is survived by his three sons, Gregory Mendoza III of Hanford, Michael Mendoza of Sanger, and Christopher Mendoza of Visalia; grandchildren (Michael’s children) Iris Jessie Mendoza, 13, and Michael Francisco Mendoza, 12, of Sanger; and sisters Angie Herrera and Mary Lou Lopez, both of Reedley.
