Iyone Jorgensen: 1929 ~ 2018


Iyone Yvonne Jorgensen of Three Rivers passed away Friday, March 16, 2018. She was 88. 
A graveside service will be held at Three Rivers Cemetery on Saturday, April 21, at noon, with a celebration of life to follow at the Fleeman home in Three Rivers.
Iyone was born to Viola and Bassil Rohweller on June 27, 1929, in Los Angeles. She was raised on California Street in El Monte, Calif. 
Iyone was the youngest of three children. Her sister, Beverly, and her brother, Robert, were eldest. 
Iyone graduated from El Monte High School in 1947 and married Daniel Jorgensen the same year. They raised five children together over the course of their 47 years of marriage. 
The couple enjoyed traveling with their children, which  is what first brought them to Three Rivers in the 1960s. They used to camp at the end of South Fork.  
In 1972, Iyone and Daniel bought three acres in Three Rivers and built a home. They became full-time residents in 1976.
Iyone worked at Three Rivers Market and Three Rivers Drug until retiring in 1993. In her retirement years, she spent a lot of time traveling, taking cruises to places such as Alaska, the Panama Canal, Hawaii, and South America. 
Iyone enjoyed the senior activities in Three Rivers and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed attending horse shows to watch her grand-daughter, Kacie Fleeman, show. 
One of her favorite things to do was work crossword puzzles; she was an expert at trivia. During some of her Three Rivers Senior League activities, when they would play trivia games everyone wanted to be partnered with Iyone.   
Iyone was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Daniel Jorgensen Jr. (1993), and her grandson, Brad Phanstil (2012).
She is survived by her children, Danell Maggio of Long Beach, Denise and husband Craig Phanstil of Anaheim Hills, Karen Jorgensen of Cedar Creek, Texas, Daniel Jr. and wife Marjorie Jorgensen of Anaheim, and Jayme and husband Darrell Fleeman of Three Rivers; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
