James Kocher of Three Rivers died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, in Visalia due to heart complications. He was 62.
Jim was born December 5, 1951, in Pasadena to Harry and Wanda Kocher.
He was raised in Covina and worked as a machinist in Los Angeles for over 30 years. Upon his retirement in 2007, he moved to the Woodlake and Three Rivers areas.
Jim owned a classic jet boat and was fond of cruising on Lake Kaweah in the company of friends and family. He loved the natural beauty of the area and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially along the Kaweah River.
He loved to laugh and was kind and generous. Jim was quick-witted and told a great story.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Wanda Kocher of Woodlake.
He is survived by his son, Jeff “Jones” Kocher of Three Rivers; brother Paul Kocher and wife Lynn of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and sister Nadine Landstrom and husband Jeff of Three Rivers.
During his illness, Jim was surrounded by the love and camaraderie of many friends and family members, including his nephews Daniel “Boone” and Christopher Landstrom, nieces Katie Manning and Kellie Kocher, as well as his stepchildren, Ronnie, Rhiannon, Casey, Stephanie, and Jennifer. Jim was blessed over the years by affectionate relationships with soulmates Linda, Kerely, and Margie. He was very fond of his close friends Jim, Ardi, Gary, Franni, and Harley, and many others.
A graveside service was held Friday, Jan. 10, at Woodlake District Cemetery.
