While nearly everyone is complaining about the heat, Diana Glass of Three Rivers is doing something about it. She has a new enterprise that might make these consecutive days of triple-digit temperatures easier to bear.
“If you haven’t noticed, summers are getting hotter and hotter so I’ve opened a cool new retail outlet selling evaporative cooling vests,” Diana said. “You soak the vests in cold tap water for two minutes, and it keeps you cool up to eight hours.”
The store is located out back of the Sequoia Snack Shack just down-river from Ol’ Buckaroo, and it’s called Cool, Cool Gear. These are the same quality vests used by firefighters and rescue workers, Diana said.
The Cool, Cool Gear shop is open Thursday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost of the vest is $57 plus tax.
If you are a local, there’s even a way for Diana to order you a vest (if you don’t mind waiting a day or two) at a discount and with no shipping charges.
“Your Cool Vest is healthy and comfortable and will make you glad to be in Three Rivers even on those hottest of summer days,” Diana said.
