It’s only been five months since the last burglary at the Three Rivers Bread Basket, During that heist, thieves stole Thanksgiving dinners right off the tables of local folks who may otherwise have had none.
In this most recent theft, the losses were less, but still heartbreaking and annoying.
Elizabeth LaMar, a member of the Bread Basket board of directors, said this recent theft occurred sometime between Saturday afternoon, April 11, and 5:30 on Monday morning, April 13.
The thief or thieves picked a lock thought to be secure and impossible to cut, which was the mode of operation the last time around.
Lost in the heist were commodities of frozen meat and miscellaneous canned goods. The loss was estimated to be about $150.
Deputy Mark Frick said this case is probably linked to other thefts that have occurred recently. Deputy Frick said he is currently investigating this case and would appreciate any help the community might offer.
LaMar said when and if an arrest is made, the Bread Basket board is intent on getting a conviction. To offer information in the case, call Deputy Frick, 740-8894.
