Michael Lawrence Barrios, 69, of Three Rivers died Saturday, July 29, 2017, in Visalia. He was 69.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, Aug. 13, noon, at the Three Rivers Memorial Building.
Mike was born August 11, 1947, in Glendale Calif., the youngest child of Joe and Thelma Barrios. He continued this work until his retirement in 2013 and will always be fondly remembered as “The Mac Man” by countless customers and acquaintances.
Mike was also a certified hot air balloon instructor, regularly flying his own rainbow balloon in the Albuquerque Balloon Festival, as well as benevolently offering rides to just about anyone who showed an interest.
Additionally, he was a passionate Formula One racing fan, even naming his beloved dog “Senna” after his favorite driver, as well as extending numerous invites to friends and neighbors to come “watch the race” at his house.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his aunts and uncles, and his nephew, Jason Weaver.
He is survived by his son, Joe Barrios of Visalia; one granddaughter, Sadie Barrios-Rice; his brother, Rick Barrios and wife Audrey of Santa Clarita; his cousin, Caroline Bowie, and husband Gary of Camarillo; his cousin, Mary Lou Hendrickson and husband LeRoy of Thousand Oaks; his nephew, Mark Barrios of Santa Clarita; and niece Jennifer Bowie of Thousand Oaks.
