Peggy Butler: 1942 ~ 2014

Peggy Louise Butler, a 36-year resident of Granite Bay (Placer County) died Wednesday, May 28, 2014. She was 71.

Peggy was born in Hanford on October 26, 1942, to Ab and Oneta Breazaele. She graduated from Richmond High School and Contra Costa Junior College.

She was retired from Shell Oil Company, where she was a field engineer in charge of gas measurement in the gas fields of the Sacramento Valley. 

Peggy loved traditional jazz music and was a longtime volunteer with the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society. In her retirement years, she worked as a secretary in the STJS office.

She and her husband, Chuck, traveled the world in pursuit of traditional jazz. She could be found in Three Rivers every April for Jazzaffair as High Sierra Jazz Band was one of her favorite groups.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Chuck; two aunts; four cousins; two stepsons; and four grandchildren.

A memoral service will be held at a later date. 

Remembrances in Peggy’s name may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
