Tulare County planners and a team of engineers working as consultants with the Cornerstone Group of Fresno will discuss the findings of a structural assessment and the parameters of the Oak Grove Bridge project.

The existing bridge, built in 1923 and located 6.6 miles up the Mineral King Road, is considered to be a historically significant resource. The field inspection of the bridge revealed that the structure is deficient due to deterioration over time.

The purpose of the upcoming meeting is to discuss the environmental process, project alternatives, and gather comments from interested parties. Tulare County, who built, owns, and maintains the bridge, in cooperation with Cal Trans, the lead agency on all public bridges in California, has proposed to either rehabilitate the existing bridge or construct a replacement while retaining and preserving the existing bridge.
