Two injured in Cobble
Point of impact where vehicle fluids stained the state highway in the aftermath of a motorcycle-vs.-car crash at the entrance to Lake Kaweah’s Cobble Knoll Recreation Area just west of Holiday Lodge. 

On Saturday, November 14, at 2:50 p.m., near the entrance to Cobble Knoll Recreation Area, just west of Holiday Lodge, a  Kawasaki 650cc motorcycle was headed eastbound and struck a vehicle stopped in the roadway while waiting to make a left turn. Matthew Cazares, 38, of Visalia was driving the 2003 Toyota Corolla also eastbound when he stopped to make a left turn into the Cobble Knoll parking area. Two injured in Cobble

Both riders on the Kawasaki, the driver and his passenger, were thrown from the motorcycle. Jacob Robles, 22, of Visalia and his 19-year-old female passenger both suffered possible broken legs and were transported via ambulance to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia. While emergency responders were clearing the accident, Highway 198 was closed in both directions. Two injured in Cobble

The driver of the Toyota was reportedly uninjured. Robles was not cited in the accident but determined to be at fault. The cause of the accident listed in the California Highway Patrol report was “driving a motorcycle at an unsafe speed.” Two injured in Cobble
