Santa Ana winds will persist in the Southland keeping firefighters in California on alert. Fire danger from extreme drought is the order of the day from the Southwest east to Texas and the Oklahoma panhandle. The Rockies have tons of snow, the result of a storm track that remains parked north of California. Closer to home, the Central Valley is in a foggy pattern while Three Rivers basks in cool, sunny days. There is no significant rainfall in the January forecast. No measurable precipitation has occurred here since December 7.
