WEATHER WATCH: August 5, 2016

 

After the oppressive high temperatures near 110 degrees last week, highs in the upper 90s for the next 10 days will actually be a respite. Nighttime lows in the 60s translate to lows in the 40s above 7,000 feet in the mountains.

The threat during August is degraded air quality from wood smoke. Fires are burning in California, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho, Washington. The next two months will see some extreme fire danger so be cautious out there.
