WEATHER WATCH: December 18, 2015

The winter solstice occurs Tuesday, Dec. 22. On this shortest day of the year is when the annual Ursid meteor shower usually peaks, but start watching for meteor action this weekend.

There will be a full moon on Christmas night. This last full moon of the year is a rarity. There hasn’t been a full moon on Christmas since 1977; it won’t happen again for 19 years.

Forecasters are convinced that El Nino will continue bringing much-needed precipitation to California.
