This last week of 2014 wins the prize for the coldest weather of the year around these parts. And 2015 rang in cold as well with morning temperatures in the mid-20s.
Temperatures at the start of the Rose Parade hovered at the 32-degree mark, one of the coldest ever.
On Tuesday, Dec. 30, in Three Rivers, it was a drizzly, dreary day and the thermometer never rose above 39 degrees. That said, 2014 was still the warmest year on record, continuing a century-long trend attributed mostly to climate change.
Keep an eye to the sky on these clear nights. A full moon will rise on Monday, Jan. 5.
