WEATHER WATCH: January 8, 2016

This El Nino weather is getting downright interesting. There has not yet been a dramatic rise in the Kaweah River because these storms are on the colder side. Eventually, one of these storms is bound to stall over the Kaweah canyon, so be prepared for small-stream flooding, rockslides, and more downed trees.

Current storage at Lake Kaweah is 14,631 acre feet; outflow is more than twice the inflow of 339 cfs, a precaution in case all that snow comes sloshing down the Kaweah River forks during a warm rain.
