WEATHER WATCH: July 14, 2017

There are more than a dozen wildfires burning in California, including the Schaeffer Fire, a lightning-caused burn just south of Sequoia National Park, and the Whittier Fire that destroyed 20 homes in Santa Barbara County. The residual smoke from nearby fires is causing the air quality to decline, especially in the stagnant afternoon hours.

And there’s no relief in sight: Temperatures are going to be sizzling hot in the foothills for another week.
