The spring, or vernal, equinox occurs today (March 20) at 3:45 p.m., meaning that day and night are nearly equal in length. There is a total solar eclipse occurring today, but it will not be visible anywhere in the U.S. Buckeye Flat Campground, a beautiful foothills destination, will be open for the season by next weekend. NOAA reported this week that Earth just had its warmest winter ever recorded (December through February; since 1880).
