Last weekend (September 27-28), fall provided a sneak peek of what could be in store. Two-tenths of an inch of precipitation was recorded in Three Rivers from Friday evening through Sunday. Snow fell in the high country above 8,000 feet, ensuring some cold nights for backpackers trying to squeeze in one last trip before season’s end. Alas, there is no rain in sight for the next 10 days, but the days are getting noticeably shorter, meaning fall is definitely here. The night sky will be ablaze with the full moon on October 6.
