Following the Tuesday through Thursday (Oct. 21 to 23) outages that worked their way east up the Kaweah canyon, Southern California Edison officials announced that the Sunday, Oct. 26, more widespread outage would be the last one needed for the current project. The final maintenance outage is scheduled to start at 12:01 a.m. and could last until 6 a.m.
Brian Thoburn, SCE region manager, offered some tips on how to lessen the impact of the upcoming outage:
—Download the SCE mobile app available from the App Store orGoogle Play to stay updated on the event status.
—To reduce potential loss of data and/or damage to equipment, be sure to shut off in advance all sensitive electronic devices such as computers and fax machines. A system reboot may be required if your system is disconnected from a server.
If planning to operate a generator during the outage, call SCE at (800) 990-7788. Knowing that a generator is operating will help protect SCE crews from possible electrical backfeed.
If you do not have a generator, consider a rental if you think you might need power during the outage.

“We greatly appreciate the patience of our Three Rivers customers as we make complete these important system upgrades,” said Thoburn. “This project reflects Edison’s ongoing commitment to improve reliability and safety.”
