William C. Brantley Sr. of Tulare died Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, due to injuries sustained when he was struck by a car while walking in Tulare. He was 80.
Bill was born February 25, 1934, in Tulare. Since 1990, Bill worked for Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. For the past 22 years, he was the link between front-country and backcountry by providing park trail crews with their weekly resupply.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Veryllee Brantley; son Darrell Spurling; and sister Judy Alden.
He is survived by his sons, William C. Brantley Jr. of Fresno and Larry Spurling of Pryor, Okla.; daughter Glenda Singh of Stigler, Okla.; his brother and two sisters; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Interment was at Tulare District Cemetery.
