Jonah Panduro, 12, of Corcoran died Monday, July 6, while on life support at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. Panduro was critically injured on Sunday, June 28, when a metal clip detached from the inner tube he was riding behind his family’s boat on Lake Kaweah.
The clip became lodged in Panduro’s head. Surgery to remove the clip revealed extensive brain damage; Panduro never regained consciousness from a medically induced coma.
The family is accepting donations to defray medical and funeral expenses through gofundme.com/JonahPanduro.
Mark Frick, Three Rivers resident deputy, assisted at the scene of the Lake Kaweah accident. As a result, he was unable to immediately respond to calls for assistance during an altercation that was occurring simultaneously at the Slicky swimming hole.
