Woodlake murder suspect dies by suicide at Lake Kaweah

Woodlake murder ends in suicideOn the evening of Saturday, February 20, 2021, around 6:15 p.m., deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting at a home in the 1100 block of East Naranjo Blvd. in Woodlake. When deputies arrived on the scene they discovered a man in his 60s who had been shot. The deceased man has been identified as Abel Martin.
In the course of their investigation, detectives determined the suspect was the victim’s 32-year-old son, Arnold Martin. After witnesses were able to provide a description of the suspect and his vehicle, detectives were able to determine his location. Martin then led sheriff’s deputies on a chase that ended near the Kaweah Recreation Area’s boat ramp. At that point, the suspect shot and killed himself. Woodlake murder ends in suicide
This incident occurred one day after another armed man was pursued by law enforcement from Sequoia National Park through Three Rivers. Woodlake murder ends in suicide
