Sequoia-Kings Canyon weekly incidents: Phew! A busy summer 2019 is in the rear-view mirror

● 10/5/2019: Lodgepole rangers were dispatched to the Wuksachi Lodge lobby for a 12-year-old female from Germany who experienced a syncopal episode. Patient’s family reported she had been eating breakfast when she felt ill and lost consciousness. Patient and family refused transport. 
KINGS CANYON NATIONAL PARK
Cedar Grove
● Rangers participated in a Law Enforcement Refresher and an Advanced Roadside Impaired Driver Enforcement (ARIDE) course put on by California Highway Patrol.

Law Enforcement Services:
Dispatch
● The week of 9/30/2019- 10/06/2019 there were 126 incidents that required assistance for all the parks that use the SRCC: Pinnacles NP (8), Whiskeytown Recreation Area (1), Channel Islands NP (5), Sequoia (61), and Kings Canyon (51).
Wilderness Branch:
● Wilderness coordinator visited Paradise Valley to look at options for addressing hazard trees at designated wilderness campsites.
