Uppermost South Fork Drive, Mineral King, Silver City downgraded to VOLUNTARY EVACUATION; evacuation restrictions REMOVED from all other Three Rivers areas


As of Tuesday, September 29, at 1 p.m., South Fork Drive above Cinnamon Canyon Road, Mineral King, Silver City, Blue Ridge Road, and Yokohl Drive have been downgraded from mandatory evacuation to EVACUATION WARNING.
According to CALFIRE, these areas will continue to have checkpoints and residents with proof of residency will be allowed to enter the area. Uppermost South Fork Drive
The remainder of Three Rivers (including South Fork Drive below Conley Creek Bridge) and Balch Park, previously under an evacuation warning, have had all evacuation restrictions lifted.

Sequoia National Park should soon be announcing a reopening date since the park closure was tied to the evacuation status of Three Rivers. Sequoia National Forest remains closed.

Here on the South Fork, the choking smoke is almost all gone now, and for the first time a clear view of the Dennison ridge in the distance, with a massive smoke column to the right of the peak wafting up into the air, giving it the appearance of a volcano.
How are all the folks in 3 Rivers who don’t get enews supposed to know warning was lifted? It’s not in Cal Fire Incident Reports. The poorest communication regarding such a vital event topic. So much for CaLFire Emailed Incident Reports or Facebook or inciweb reports from West part of complex.
