Silver City Mountain Resort: Full of fall family fun

There’s fall, family fun at Silver City.

It’s September but there’s plenty of summer left. Fall colors of Mineral King are just around the corner. Whether a long weekend or mid-week getaway, Silver City Mountain Resort can be a base camp for lodging, mountain meals, and family fun during autumn. Silver City will remain open to the public through October 22, then it goes into hibernation as the Mineral King Road closes for the winter.

Meet Hannah Parsons — operations manager of Silver City Resort. Hannah and her friendly staff will cater to every need. Rent a cabin or chalet (ask about mid-week discounts) then enjoy high-altitude cuisine in Silver City’s all-new rustically remodeled dining room.

For campers, the best sites at Cold Springs and Atwell Mill (Sequoia National Park) are rarely occupied this time of year and, as always, are first-come, first-served. Take the worry out of trail lunches or fixing dinner — Silver City’s dining room, deck, store, and showers are open daily until 8 p.m.
