TRUS to unveil new classrooms at December 3 open house

When Oral E Micham, Inc. of Woodlake bid successfully to remodel the primary and hexagon wings of Three Rivers Union School last summer, there were doubts whether an early December deadline was realistic. Would there be cost overruns discovered during demolition? Would the weather cooperate during re-roofing? TRUS unveils Hexagon

There are always unknowns when you peel back 70 years of substructure and remodel with new materials. Sue Sherwood, superintendent/principal of the 130-student K-8 school, said there were some surprises but they presented no major obstacles for Mike Jensen and his crew.

In the above video conversation, which took place in the new sixth-grade classroom during Thanksgiving break, Sue invites everyone to stop by on Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., to inspect the new construction. The primary teachers will also be in their rooms to answer questions —  they were able to move back in for the start of the fall semester. TRUS unveils Hexagon

The sixth, seventh, and eighth graders will move back in to their new rooms after the December 3 Open House. That’s seven new classrooms and five bathrooms finished in the past six months.

“Come see your 3.1 million tax dollars at work,” Sherwood invited. TRUS unveils Hexagon

You won’t be disappointed. It’s a rare example of a public works project, on time and within budget.
